Easy Way to Restore the Body's Salt-Sugar Balance

Electrolytes can get off balance after a bout of diarrhea or vomitting. When exercising or hiking in the heat of the day, we can sweat out our body's salts and get into an electrolyte balance.

An easy way to re-balance our body's salt-sugar balance (electrolytes) is by simply mixing salt and sugar into water.

Here is a recipe:

In one litre (4 cups) of water, mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 8 teaspoons of sugar.

This recipe is found on page 19 of a great book, When the Grid Goes Down, by Tony Nester. It is available through his website: www.apathways.com
