The Church in Exile and The Three Days of Darkness

Lightning hits St. Peter's Basilica within hours of antipope
Ratzinger delcaring resignation.
“Our Lord says:
“ ‘The silent persecution, already in all its awful ampleness, is whispering in a low voice against the Bound of Faith. Slyly closed upon themselves at present time, the hearts will uprise violently against the Pontiff of My Church, and within a short time, the lightning, the forerunner of a forthcoming storm, will drop its sparks on the center of the Eternal City.
“ ‘The Church is destined to put up with the most awful affronts. It will vanish away like the bodily life of the [C]hristians; but it will rise again in the midst of trials and its triumph will be secured.
“ ‘Tell My children not to harbor any doubt about her forthcoming triumph, because doubting would be offending Me.’ ”

Reflection on this prophecy :
The first paragraph takes us to the decades of “the silent persecution” leading the Papacy and all of Christendom toward the takeover and Exile of Pope Gregory XVII on October 26, 1958.
This silent persecution is aimed at “The Bound of Faith”, who are most probably the Cardinals who will be electing the Pontiff at the Conclave:
By 1958, Cardinal Mindszenty has already sought asylum against the communist government which wishes to imprison him, and is living in the American Embassy in Budapest, Hungary, but the American government will not bring him to the Conclave after the Cardinals ask for this favour. As well, Cardinal Alojzje Stepimac of Yugoslavia is not able to attend the Conclave due to communist persecution. The elderly Cardinal Thomas Thien Ken-sin of China is in a severe car accident and arrives with both legs in casts and must have two assistants for the duration of the Conclave. Cardinal Archbishop of Detroit, Edward Mooney, dies of heart failure just before the Conclave, and there is a question as to whether he was murdered. There is also the sudden death of venerated Cardinal Celso Constantini just prior to the Conclave. [Source: Lai, Benny Il Papa Non Eletto, chapter 8].
This takeover (or coup) which takes place in the Conclave seems sudden: “the hearts will uprise violently against the Pontiff of My Church”.
And then “within a short time” [perhaps a short time when viewed from Eternity] “the lightning, the forerunner of a forthcoming storm, will drop its sparks on the center of the Eternal City” which is what happened when lightning struck St. Peter's Basilica three times. This event, during the time of antipope Ratzinger, was witnessed by many, photographed, and was published by the media (see photo above).
If this is indeed the lightning event to which this prophecy speaks, then we can expect to face fresh persecutions. The lightning comes before “a forthcoming storm” of persecution, and “[t]he Church is destined to put up with the most awful affronts.”
In a Spiritual Chastisement, such as was spoken of by Our Lady of Fatima, Holy Mother Church “will vanish away like the bodily life of the [C]hristians”, and millions upon millions of souls will never know that the Holy Pontiff is in Exile.
How long this Exile is to last, we do not know. However, Our Lord reassures the Church in Exile and Her children that the Papacy “will rise again in the midst of trials and its triumph will be secured.”
The situation will seem bleak even to those of deep faith, like a dead end. But we are told not to doubt God’s promise for “doubting would be offending Me.”
Let us pray very much, each and every day, for our Holy Father, that He may be divinely protected during any new persecutions which will certainly aim to prevent the Papal Restoration from taking place.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, be Pope Gregory XVIII’s protection!
