SATAN OPPOSES HIMSELF TO THE SUN, Part 2

Two weeks ago, in Part 1, we left off with the devil trying to tempt Marie-Julie to despair about the loyalty of her friends, about the salvation of those she loves, and he threatens her with influencing the on-going investigation so that they do not allow her to make her Easter duty. Marie-Julie treats the devil with the contempt that he deserves, and he hates her put-downs:

He roars with shame, swears, storms.

“You will not make your Easter; you are damned; all of your confessions are bad.”

--Do not worry about what I do, Satan. Go with your people; you are, above all, a villainous beast!

“If you had a director, oh! you would be happier, more reassured.”

--Satan, my director and my consoler is Jesus Christ, my Saviour!

“You will not make your Easter, I do not want it.”

--I hate you; I curse you; I spit in your face, dirty beast! You are stupid ! You tell me that I am damned and you insult me. You do not insult the damned, you are careful with them.

“I have my reasons… All that has been done for you was badly done; all those whom you have believed to be in your service, in order to glorify you, they didn’t do it.

--But you are stupid! I have had all of the prayers of my friends whom I love.

“Say then, to Christ, that you do not want to go there where He takes you (to the sun). You will see, in the light of this sun, abominable things, all that which would disgust you. This would be for you a great misfortune.”

--Villainous beast, old drum of Satan, but you are stupid! You really have your soul between your hoofs! At another time, you would not reason like this, old partridge, old mandarin! Go away and never come back!

“I will return so long as you will not tell me that you renounce to enter into the sun where the Christ leads you.”

--Does the name of my Jesus burn your mouth or muzzle?

“I do not love Him…If you will throw your Crucifix to the ground, I will make a prodigy.”

--Ah! Satan! old deceiver, old dust rag, old thief, old grappin, old bastard… You leave and do not come back any more!

“I do not love him that is over there (Fr. David), nor him who is here (Fr. Guitteny, Parish Priest of Gavre). I will do all that I can to denounce them and depress them: these are your two aides-de-camp [helpers in your cause].”

--Who do you have as your aides-de-camp, old bastard Quéquet [Little Pig]? You have, but I will not name them, you would be too glorious. I do not want to dirty my tongue by the name of your apostles. You leave, get going, old “brette” (?) , old drum. Never come back!

“You use the names of beasts to insult me?”

--Leave.

“Not before you renounce to go there, where the Christ directs you.”

--My Jesus! In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Bring me into your mysterious sun! I believe in the Father, and in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost, and my belief is eternal.

“Give me something before I go.”

--Satan, I order you to go. I chase you in the name of God. Vade retro!

“You are not in grace, not in the way of the truth.”

--Do not concern yourself with my business, and go warm yourself in Hell with your henchmen. Leave immediately.

“You will not make your Easter.”

--I will make my Easter.

Our Lord, from the sun where I was with Him, says to Satan:

“Leave, infernal beast! That’s enough torment; I gave you only moderate power.”

Satan does not reply. He goes away, hiding his drool, foaming with rage. Our Lord resumed:

“You will not exceed the limits that I have assigned to your powers.”

--Lord, order him then to respect the souls that Thou love and that Thou has accounted for.

“Dear victims and servants, these signs should confirm for you the reality of My Divine Work.”

--I thank Thee, my Jesus! I hate him; I curse him.

“My children, do not be surprised if his rage ignites more! He neither loves the glory nor the truth of My prodigies. Remain in peace. And you, rest assured: what he speaks is just lies.”

--I thank Thee, my Jesus.

“I bless you, and I give you My grace.”

Satan is still shouting:

“I do not love blessings. I will poison blessed water. I do not want it to be thrown at me any more.”

--You will have many others, even if it means emptying out the holy water fonts of the church.

“If you stop throwing it at me, I will not return.”

--Come back, and you will get it.

“Give me something, a strand of hair, a glance, even the leaf of a flower.”

--Vade retro.

“He is gone,” says Our Lord. “I bless you, my children.”

Glory be to the Father,…

Blessing

Reflection on this last part of this Ecstasy :

Marie-Julie is, like us, without the strengthening of the Blessed Sacrament, our spiritual food. She is denied the Blessed Sacrament for 11 years.

This makes her an outcast in the eyes of many, that she is seemingly outside the Church.

Lesson #1:

The devil therefore tries to weaken her resolve by wielding the weapons of self-pity and doubt:

“If you had a director, oh! you would be happier, more reassured.”

With the death of Bishop Fournier, who knew that her visions and prophecies were from God, Marie-Julie is left without spiritual direction.

The Priests who are present at this ecstasy are there to bless her and to observe everything and make a report to the bishop.

Marie-Julie has no spiritual direction from a Priest anymore, and she relies on God’s Holy Will utterly, which she tells the devil:

“Satan, my director and my consoler is Jesus Christ, my Saviour!”

And this is the situation for us, the children of Holy Mother Church today!

Lesson #2:

The devil’s other typical weapon is to make Marie-Julie worry about the state of her soul, in that she cannot make her Easter Duty by receiving Holy Communion, and will therefore be in mortal sin:

“You will not make your Easter, you are damned;”

Marie-Julie still has the other Holy Sacraments, such as the Sacrament of Penance, but the devil tries to take away all security by telling her:

“… all of your confessions are bad.”

Satan wants Marie-Julie to worry that her life, all she struggles for is false, and that even her confessions are lies and therefore sacrilegious, the worst kind of sin.

Lesson #3:

And Satan also tries to instill fear of his power over other people, such as the bishop, over the ongoing investigation. He wants Marie-Julie to believe that he controls her life, by saying:

“You will not make your Easter, I do not want it.”

Lesson #4:

Satan tries to make everything seem like an illusion (a lie) or a mistake:

“All that has been done for you was badly done;”

Without spiritual direction, Marie-Julie must trust in God to guide her life, and we must do the same.

Lesson #5:

At the heart of the fears and doubts which the devil instills, is to doubt about God’s Will for us:

“Say then, to Christ, that you do not want to go there where He takes you (to the sun). You will see, in the light of this sun, abominable things, all that which would disgust you. This would be for you a great misfortune.”

Recall that the bright light, the “sun” which appears in front of her, is how Christ shows Marie-Julie the future events. She looks into it and reads words or sees events. This is similar to Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi.

Lesson #6:

The devil hates the true Priesthood which is obedient to its true Bishops.

“I do not love him over there (Fr. David), nor him who is here (Fr. Guitteny, Parish Priest of Gavre). I will do all that I can to denounce them and depress them…”

And this is how the devil persecutes the Priesthood of Christ: by false accusations to smear their names and have them removed from their parishes, and by depressing them, making them suffer depression.

Recall the words of Pope Gregory XVII, given in a short interview in 30 Days in the Catholic World magazine:

“They have not succeeded in making me ill, but they have succeeded in making me sad and depressed.” [from a three-hour interview on January 17, 1985, which was not published until a small excerpt appeared in 30 Days Magazine, after His Holiness’ death of May 2, 1989]. See http://www.thepopeinred.com/index_ital.htm

This is the result of having Satan unchained for 100 years. His attacks against the Papacy and the Roman Catholic Priesthood have certainly greatly stopped the Pope and His true Priestly soldiers from triumphing in a counter-attack.

Lesson #7:

As a last resort, Satan will try to bargain with us. He will promise to remove all sufferings, all barriers, if we just give up the fight for Christ; if we just turn aside from the Crucified Christ:

“… If you will throw your Crucifix to the ground, I will make a prodigy.”

We must remember to pray, very hard, to never be that weak in our sufferings! And we must never be prideful and assume that we will never fall!

Lesson #8:

It is not for laypeople to use the Priestly words of exorcism, which are Christ’s own words, to force the devil and his demons to leave, as Christ clearly tells Marie-Julie:

“You will not exceed the limits that I have assigned to your powers.”

When we are attacked, we must ask for intercession from Our Lord; from Our Lady, who has crushed Satan’s head; from Saint Joseph, who is so strong for these times; from Saint Benedict, who is the known as the terror of demons; from our Guardian Angels, whose prayers for us are heard by God.

Lesson #9:

Lastly, we have a lesson directly from Christ our Lord:

“My children, do not be surprised if his rage ignites more! He neither loves glory nor the truth of My prodigies. Remain in peace. And you [speaking to Marie-Julie], rest assured: what he speaks is just lies.

We have more sufferings yet, more persecutions before Christ comes. Our daily prayers are most important to keep us in the peace of grace.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, be our Defense against the snares of the devil!
